Our team

Home to London’s only Enterprise Zone, the Royal Docks is one of the most significant regeneration projects in the UK. The Royal Docks Team was established in 2017 to deliver the cohesive transformation of the Royal Docks into a vibrant, mixed-use destination with culture and community at its heart.

Working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders from local community groups to developers and local businesses, the team is delivering an ambitious £314 million investment programme over the next five years and beyond.

Our board

Three boards oversee the work our team is doing.

The London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP) works with entrepreneurs, business, the Mayor of London, and London councils to boost jobs and economic growth across the capital. LEAP ensures scrutiny and transparency by providing strategic oversight for the Royal Docks Enterprise Zone. This oversight is devolved to two boards:

Community involvement

Key existing businesses and development partners have a seat on the Royal Docks Advisory Board. We’re also establishing a number of more specialised partnerships to enable collaboration in key areas, such as marketing and cultural programming.

Enterprise zone

Enterprise Zones are designated areas that provide tax breaks and other business incentives. They are engines of the UK’s economy, helping to attract substantial foreign investment into the country. The Royal Docks is London’s only Enterprise Zone covering 125 hectares and including strategically important land owned by the Mayor of London.

The area has already enjoyed substantial public and private sector investment since it was established as an Enterprise Zone in 2013, and this is likely to reach more than £8bn by 2037/38. 35,000 jobs and 4,000 homes are forecast within the zone, and 60,000 jobs and 25,500 homes in the wider area.
